Job Summary

Our Tree Care Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of their tree care jobs. Top priorities are ensuring the safety of crew members, ensuring the industry's best job quality, achieving optimal customer satisfaction, and producing desired profit margins.

Our Tree Care Supervisors are able to maintain excellent working relationships with employees while ensuring safety is a top priority for their team.

Ensure all crew members are complying with all safety procedures at all times.

Oversee the performance of specialized pruning and takedowns, installations of cabling and bracing, and the operation of equipment.

Inspect diverse species of trees for damage from insects, injury, and disease. Utilize your expertise to recommend solutions to address any client concerns.

Assist with securing any required environmental, safety, and/or right-of-way permits.

Manage tree care work schedule.

Manage each job's budget with the goal of achieving the budgeted margin. Consistently focus on promoting safety first. Serve as an enthusiastic role model of all organizational policies and procedures. Handle workplace injuries and incidents following proper HR and safety protocols.

 

Job Requirements

Possess knowledge of:

  • Correct principles, practices, and methods associated with tree care (e.g., tree identification, plant health care, pruning types, tree risk assessments, recommended removals, etc.)
  • Different pruning techniques and how to implement them with crews
  • Principles of tree removals, including rigging techniques and how to implement them with crews
  • Work zone setup during tree care operation
  • General understanding and implementation of traffic control
  • Safe work practices involving equipment, chemicals, and PPE
  • Proper operation of tree care equipment

Demonstrate the skills to:

  • Build quality relationships with internal and external clients
  • Organize, schedule, and implement proper job schedules and tasks
  • Communicate and work effectively with others
  • Manage time and projects effectively
  • Be self-motivated and work independently
  • Manage labor, equipment, and other costs within a budget to meet job profitability goals
  • Manage tree care tools and equipment, including regular maintenance and service
  • Address risks and hazards associated with all tree care operations (e.g. utility lines, space requirements, etc.)

Have the ability to:

  • Frequently stand, walk or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces
  • Stoop, kneel, bend and move/lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Walk for long distances and on sloped and uneven ground

Experience, Education and Credentials

  • Minimum 5 years of professional tree care experience
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English is required
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish are beneficial
  • Possess a valid FL driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • The ability to earn a Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) credential within the first year of employment is encouraged
  • Knowledge of safe work practices involving tree care equipment
