Small Engine Mechanic

Job Summary

This is a non-exempt position is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled landscape tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

As a Small Engine Mechanic will be expected to possess basic knowledge of:

  • 2 and 4 cycle hand held equipment
  • Exmark, Laser, and Navigator riding mowers
  • 21” Walk behind mowers
  • John Deer Gators, small tractors, golf carts, and other small engine equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and effectively using tools to repair equipment
  • Performing diagnostics and repair of small engine equipment
  • Selecting appropriate course of action for repairs
  • Testing equipment once repairs are completed and verifying that all issues have been resolved
  • Document all repairs
  • Ensuring all work orders are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Performing road calls and emergency services as needed

 REQIEMENTS

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years working on small engine equipment
  • Valid driver license, and clean motor vehicle record

  • Adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and attendance policy and procedures.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • Working Conditions: Work is predominately outdoors, exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels.
  • Frequently stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
