Licensed Spray Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced fully licensed Spray Technician to join our landscaping business. As a Spray Technician, you will be responsible for applying pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and other chemicals to maintain and enhance the health and appearance of lawns, plants, and landscapes. You will work closely with clients and team members to ensure safe and effective application methods, while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company standards.

We are a full-service landscape provider specializing in all phases of commercial landscape management. We help clients maintain and improve property value through landscape appearance, functionality, and efficiency with our wide service range, technical expertise, and resources. From 6 local service centers, we serve the greater Portland Metropolitan, Vancouver, Columbia Gorge and Salem areas.

This position will work from our Hillsboro and Tigard Oregon locations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (not apprentice)
  • Previous experience as a Spray Technician or in a similar role (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of pesticide application techniques, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with common pests, diseases, and weeds affecting lawns and landscapes.
  • Ability to operate and maintain spray equipment.
  • Good understanding of integrated pest management (IPM) principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and documentation abilities.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license

 

 

Duties include:

 

Chemical Application

  • Apply pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and other chemicals to lawns, plants, and landscapes following proper application techniques and procedures.
  • Determine appropriate product dosages and timing based on specific requirements, such as plant type, soil conditions, and pest control needs.
  • Operate and maintain spray equipment, ensuring proper calibration, functioning, and safety.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust application schedules as necessary to optimize results and minimize environmental impact.
  • Keep accurate records of chemicals used, application rates, and dates for reporting and compliance purposes.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for chemical handling, storage, and application to protect personal and public safety.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding pesticide use and application.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, new products, and regulations related to chemical application and pest management.
  • Maintain records of chemical inventory, usage, and safety data sheets (SDS) in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Equipment and Inventory Management:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of spray equipment, including regular inspections and repairs as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels of pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and other chemicals, and coordinate with management for replenishment.
  • Safely store chemicals and maintain accurate records of inventory, usage, and disposal.
