Tree Care Grounds Worker With Class “B” Driver License-

Job Summary

A Groundsworker:

- assists in the performance of specialized pruning and takedowns

- operates equipment (e.g., chainsaw, chipper, hand tools) safely

- demonstrates proper tree wounding/pruning techniques

- performs all types of trimming from the ground up to 20 feet high

- maintains tools and equipment to ensure safety

- attends safety meetings

- demonstrates basic tree and disease identification skills

- leads a small work crew safely and efficiently

- provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and Bemus staff in a courteous and efficient manner

- tree care principles

- pruning and removal techniques

- tree identification and insect and disease identification

- safe work practices and emergency procedures

- selection and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

- basic operation of power equipment (e.g., chipper, chainsaw) and various hand tools

- basic mathematics

- basic knots and rope operation for rigging
